Contact Thermometers may have Thermocouple or RTD inputs. Thermocouples and RTD's are sensors used for measuring temperature. The thermocouple input consists of two dissimilar metals, joined together at one end. There are may variations of thermocouple types. RTD's work well, because they are relatively immune to electrical noise, therefore well suited for industrial environments.
