Their unique dimensions prevent the substitution of other fuses with lower voltage ratings, interrupting ratings, or current‑limiting capability. A4J fuses are typically used for capacitors, loadcenters, panelboards, switchboards, bus duct, feeder circuits, circuit breakers, lighting, and heating.
