EBM-Papst Fans - Overview of Fans and Blowers

EBM-Papst Logo
EBM-Papst is an international manufacturer and marketer of ventilation and drive engineering solutions. EBM-Papst Fans assist facilities all over the world to stay cool and function properly.
EBM-Papst offers a wide variety of fans and blowers that are appropriate for many different industrial ventilation applications.
The EBM-Papst fans and blowers product line includes:
Axial Fans.
Axial Fans are AC fans with external rotor shaded-pole motor. Electrical Resistance in the circuit is protected against overloading. EBM-Papst's axial fans save space, while moving air for hot or cold air exchange in a wide variety of devices and systems. In the EC version, EBM-Papst fans become intelligent energy-savers for an extremely wide range of applications, primarily in ventilation, air-conditioning and refrigeration technology and the automotive industry.
Axial Fans manufactured by EBM-Papst include:
  • S Series - equipped with sickle-shaped blades for high air flow at medium pressure
  • K Series - especially low noise level - ideally suited for refrigeration plant applications
  • A Series - For high-pressure applications
Tray Fans
This fan is designed with a 6' cord with a three prong molded plug. The EBM-Papst tray fan houses AC fans in a die-cast aluminum housing.
Motorized Impeller Fans
An AC Motorized Impeller fan can be categorized as an AC radial blower with an outer rotor shaded-pole motor. Electrical resistance in the circuit is protected against overloading.
Motorized Impeller fans can be found in the following series and product numbers, and many more:
  • RER160AC Motorized Impeller Fan
  • RER125AC Motorized Impeller Fan
  • R2E133 Motorized Impeller Fan
  • R3G133 Motorized Impeller Fan
  • RIG120 Series Motorized Impeller Fan
Fan Motors
For fans in the M4Q series come with 4-pole Quad design. Shaded-pole motor with self-aligning and permanently lubricated sintec bearings make up the construction of these fan motors. Centrifugal blowers from EBM-Papst are available with forward or backward curved blades. Some of the outstanding features of the external rotor motors is their compact, flat design, which results from integrating the external rotor motor into the impeller. "Blowers" refers to devices with scroll housing, while centrifugal fans are shipped without scrolls.
Centrifugal Blowers
Centrifugal Blowers are ventilation devices for moving air or other gases. These fans enhance the rate of air flow with the turning impellers. Centrifugal fans move air radially, changing the direction (usually by 90o) of the air flow. Centrifugal Fans or a continuous CFM gadget or a constant quantity device, indicating that, at a continuous fan rate, a centrifugal fan will pump a consistent amount of air as opposed to a constant mass. This means that the air velocity in a unit is remedied even though mass circulation rate with the fan is not.
Crossflow Blowers
Crossflow Blowers are ventilation devices utilized to make flow within a liquid, generally air. The Blower design includes a rotating arrangement of vanes or blades which act on the air. The turning assembly of blades and center is known as an impeller, a rotor, or a runner. Often, it is included within some type of housing. This directs the airflow and boost security and safety by stopping objects and people from contacting the blades of the blower.
Radial Blowers
AC radial blowers with external rotor shaded-pole motors. Electrical Resistance in the circuit is protected against overloading. The spiral housing and blower is made of reinforced plastic. Housing base consists of galvanized steel. Radial Blower rotates clockwise when you look at the rotor.
