History of the Magnecraft Corporation
Where Magnecraft is Found
Magnecraft Relays
Launched in 1951 by Herbert Steinbeck in Chicago, IL, Magnecraft began producing relays for commercial applications. Since their beginnings in 1951, Magnecraft has obtained many useful relay lines, including:
Electrical control panels often require modification, which can be time consuming. Magnecraft manufactures quality parts
that are designed to work together as a complete system to save time and energy. The plug-in Relay/Socket System is built
to upgrade and simplify outdated control panels.
Magnecraft relays and accessories can be found in a multitude of applications, ranging from commecial electronics to industrial and factory floor machines. Some examples of the type of applications you may find Magnecraft relays include:

Launched in 1951 by Herbert Steinbeck in Chicago, IL, Magnecraft began producing relays for commercial applications. Since their beginnings in 1951, Magnecraft has obtained many useful relay lines, including:
- Electro-Seal, Division of C.P. Clare in 1972
- Hart-Advance, Relay Branch of Oak Industries in 1974
- Omega Electric Business in 1977
- Sigma Instruments, Relay Branch in 1986
- Milspec Relay, Division of Struthers-Dunn in 1990
- Solid Condition, Relay Division of Grayhill, Inc. in 1999

- Building Automation, Pumps & Fans, Heating & Cooling (General Purpose Relays)
- Lighting, Motors & Machinery (Power Relays)
- Security, Alarms & Circuit Protection (Timing & Sensing Relays)
- Packaging Equipment, Hospital Equipment, Flasing Lights (Solid State Relays)
- Solar Powered Circuits, Mining Equipment (Latching & Sequencing Relays)
- Computers, Business Machines & Consumer Appliances (Printed Circuit Board/PCB Relays)
- General Purpose Relays - available in many different package styles such as full-featured, plain cover and flange mount. Most are compatible with a choice of sockets and accessories.
- Power Relays - used to control circuits that exceed 10 amps. Power Relays are capable of switching high voltage DC loads and multiple HP motors.
- Timing & Sensing Relays - used to control and monitor circuits. The purpose of a time delay relay is to control an event based on time. Sensing relays monitor and react to a voltage or current.
- Solid State Relays - Electronic control devices that have no moving parts. They are suitable for applications that have high cycle rates and require reliable and silent operations.
- Latching & Squencing Relays - These relays utilize impulses to control switching and/or to conserve energy. When the control power is removed, the contacts remain in the closed state. This means they consume energy only for a moment while switching.
- Printed Circuit Board (PCB) Relays - Compact devices used for power management on printed circuit boards (PCB's).
