What is a Bender?

What is a bender
A Bender is a machine used to shape or form flat or straight material, most commonly metal. Benders can be used to shape flat pieces of metal into many different shapes. Benders can also be used to shape and bend pipes and tubes for plumbing and gas use. These machines commonly use hydraulics to apply the force to the material causing the change in shape.
Types of Benders
  • types of benders Hydraulic Bending Machine: Hydraulic Benders are similar to press brakes. The user feeds a sheet of metal into the machine and a hydraulic control applies downward force onto the material to produce the desired bend.
  • Plate Bending Machine: Plate Bending Machines have 3 large round cylinders that allow the user to feed a flat sheet of metal in one side causing it to curve on the rotating cylinders.
  • Pipe and Tube Bending Machine: Similar to a plate bending machine, pipe bending machines have 3 rotating rollers. When the pipe is fed through, it is the shaped into the desired curve.
