Insulators
An electrical standoff insulator separates a conductor from the surface or component to which it is attached. Its high electrical resistance prevents the unintentional flow of current between the conductor and surrounding objects, reducing the potential for power damage and energy waste.

By eliminating any direct physical contact between electrical components, standoff insulators help prevent conditions that may cause them to short out.

Standoff insulators are produced from a variety of materials, influencing the effectiveness of the insulator and how it performs in certain applications. Insulators can be made from clay, quartz, or composite materials like fiberglass and rubber. Each type can tolerate different amounts of voltage, corrosion, and deformation.

ERICO offers a full range of ERIFLEX low-voltage stand-off insulators from 1 inch to 3.5 inches with a total of 29 sizes available. These cost-effective insulators offer great stability of electrical and mechanical parameters and very high resistance to leakage current. ISO Series insulators are manufactured from a halogen-free fiberglass-reinforced thermalset unsaturated polyester molded compound (BMC). Their electro-plated zinc inserts are threaded to ASME standards.
