RC Networks
An RC network, or RC circuit, is a resistor-capacitor circuit device used to filter a signal by blocking certain frequencies and allowing others to pass. RC circuits can also be used to minimize the chance of arcing, and reduce noise in relay and switching applications.

RC networks consist of a combination of resistors and capacitors connected in series, the simplest being one resistor and one capacitor. The arrangement of the resistor and capacitor in the circuit determines the output of the device and gives the RC network its primary operating characteristic.

The most common RC networks are high-pass filters and low-pass filters. High-pass filters attenuate low frequency signals and protect sensitive circuits from direct current. Low-pass filters attenuate high frequency signals and smooth or remove short-term fluctuations.

The RG1676 series single phase RC networks are designed for arc and noise suppression in heavy duty applications requiring greater magnitudes of power dissapation. The compact, panel mount design, allows units to be stacked for maximum space utilization. Many units are available with additional MOV protection.

ITW Quencharcs are commonly used for noise and arc suppression, relay contact protection, noise reduction on controllers and drives and as RC snubber networks. They are also used for EMI/RFI reduction. Type QRL is UL/CSA rated. UL file number E33628 and CSA file number LR32208. Quencharcs are coated with a flame retardant epoxy. Other resistor and capacitor combinations are available as a special order.

THREE-PHASE - DIN RAIL MOUNT Series Image
Electrocube DIN rail mount RC networks are available in single and three phase configurations. Ideal for control, automation and instrumentation applications. Space saving design reduces installation time.

THREE-PHASE - HEAVY DUTY - PANEL MOUNT Series Image
Designed for the most rugged environments, these heavy duty three phase RC networks are the answer. Available in 480 VAC and 660 VAC Delta and Wye configurations. Some units have built-in MOV's. All units have 0.47 microfarad capacitors coupled with 22 through 680 ohm, 10 watt resistors. Standard MTW lead length is 10 inches.

THREE-PHASE - PANEL MOUNT Series Image
These three phase, tower style, RC networks are available in both Delta and Wye configurations. Both types are rated for 480 VAC. All are supplied with a 0.5 microfarad capacitor with various 10 watt resistors. The four hole mounting pattern will stand up to severe industrial applications where vibration may be a factor.
