Thermostats
A thermostat is an electronic component that senses the temperature of its environment. Thermostats are often the main control unit for heating and cooling systems, and are responsible for maintaining ambient temperature near a desired setpoint.

Thermostats control temperature by switching heating or cooling devices on or off to maintain the correct temperature. To control temperatures in an enclosure, a thermostat would be responsible for turning on or off small heaters and fans.

Thermostats provide consistent operating conditions within enclosures to produce greater reliability, reduce energy consumption, and improve equipment efficiency. Thermostats also assist in protecting electronic equipment from corrosion and other damage due to condensation.

KT 011 Small Thermostats are available in two color-coded configurations (red for normally closed, blue for normally open) with several setting range options. The normally closed (NC) thermostat provides a normally closed contact (red dial - opens on temperature rise) for regulating heaters or for switching signal devices when temperature has fallen below the minimum value. The normally open (NO) version provides a normally open contact (blue dial - closes on temperature rise) for regulating filter fans, heat exchangers, cooling devices or for switching signal devices when temperature limit has been exceeded.

  • The FLZ series are available with N.C. / N.O. and changeover contacts. In combination with control cabinet heaters, they serve for temperature control inside the control cabinet.
  • In combination with filterfans, they provide for additional savings on energy, materials, and time. All in all, this results in greater reliability of the production process, reduced energy consumption due to need-based use and improvement in the efficiency of the controlled heaters and filterfans.

The ZR 011 houses two separate thermostats, allowing the independent control of heating and cooling or other equipment. These color-coded devices are available in NC/NO or NO/NO configurations, with separate adjustable setting ranges. The NC thermostat provides a normally closed contact (red - opens on temperature rise) for regulating heaters or for switching signal devices when temperature has fallen below the minimum value. The NO thermostat provides a normally open contact (blue - closes on temperature rise) for regulating filter fans, heat exchangers, cooling devices or for switching signal devices when temperature limit has been exceeded.

FT 011 Tamperproof (Pre-set) Thermostats are available in two color-coded configurations with fixed setpoints. The FZK 011 Mechanical Thermostat is used for controlling heating and cooling equipment, filter fans or signal devices where a higher degree of sensing accuracy is required. An integrated resistor (RF) can be connected to improve the switch temperature difference. The thermostat registers the surrounding air and can switch both inductive and resistive loads via snap-action contact.

The ET 011 is an electronic thermostat for regulating high performance DC 24V equipment. Heating or cooling equipment, as well as signal devices, can be switched via the SPDT (changeover) contact. A relatively small hysteresis sets the ET 011 apart from less accurate mechanical thermostats.
