Kester 245 No-clean Cored Wire was developed to complement low residue liquid fluxes being used by the electronics industry. The chemistry is based on some of the same principles that have been safely used for years in mildly activated rosin fluxes. The use of 245 No-clean Cored Wire results in visually acceptable assemblies without cleaning, yet soldering quality and efficiency is comparable to that obtained with mildly activated rosin flux.

Kester 275 No-Clean Flux for cored solder wire was developed to provide superior wetting performance for hand soldering in the electronics industry. The chemistry is based on some of the same principles that have been safely used for years in mildly activated rosin fluxes. The use of 275 No-Clean Flux results in an extremely clear post-soldering residue without cleaning. The unique chemistry in Kester 275 was also designed to reduce spattering common to most core fluxes. Kester 275 can be used for both lead bearing and lead-free soldering.

Kester 282 rosin-cored solder has been developed for use in the electronics industry where a more active flux than plain rosin is required but where highly activated fluxes are considered potentially conductive. Rosin core 282 has particular application where difficult assemblies are to be soldered but the flux residue must be electrically inert.

Kester 285 consists of high quality, purified rosin to which a synergistic combination of activating agents has been incorporated. The fluxing ability of 285 is much greater than ordinary mildly activated rosin fluxes and is comparable to fully activated rosin fluxes. Kester 285 has been developed for use in the electronic industry where difficult assemblies are to be soldered, but process requirements stipulate use of a mildly activated rosin flux.

Kester 331 Organic Flux is a water soluble formula for use in flux-cored solder wire. This cored solder flux is more effective than rosin fluxes in soldering difficult metals. Fast action and mild properties are exhibited with 331 Organic Flux. The flux is more heat stable than most organic fluxes, resulting in minimal smoke and odor. The residue can be completely removed with a simple water rinse.

Kester 405 Rosin-Free Low Residue Flux for cored solder wire was developed to completely eliminate R-42 sensitizers commonly found in rosin-based fluxes. Kester 405 has performance characteristics far exceeding standard No-Clean fluxes without any of the sensitizer issues.

Kester 48 Activated Rosin Flux for cored solder wire was developed for lead-free applications to enable soldering of most common metals. Kester 48 has performance characteristics far exceeding standard RA fluxes. Kester 48 builds on the performance of its predecessor Kester 44 with "instant-action" wetting to provide fast and reliable solder joints.

Kester 88 activated rosin flux for cored solder consists of high quality Grade WW rosin to which has been added an extremely effective activating agent. This rosin flux formulation is similar to the popular Kester 44 which has been the standard of the electronics industry for decades. The degree of activity has been increased, however, to be able to provide better fluxing action in those cases where Kester 44 flux will not wet metal surfaces which are excessively oxidized. Kester 88 flux core is classified as ROM1 per J-STD-004.
Kester 88 activated rosin flux is used for applications where organic flux residue is too corrosive and conductive and a more active flux than normal activated rosin flux is required. Kester88 flux is recommended for difficult-to-solder metals such as nickel or for metals with excessive oxides.

Kester OR421 is a high activity, water soluble, cored wire flux. The OR421 is more heat stable, exhibits better wetting capabilities and has less odor than competitive products. The residues left by OR421 are near neutral pH and therefore also less corrosive. OR421 will solder copper as well as more difficult to solder materials such as brass and nickel. OR421 can be used on pipes or tubing for applications such as refrigeration coils and heat exchangers. The heat stability of Kester OR421 makes it ideal for high temperature alloys such as 95 Tin/5 Antimony, 10 Tin/88 Lead/2 Silver, and 10 Tin/90 Lead.
