What is a Conveyor?
What is a Conveyor
A Conveyor is a common part of industrial machining that moves material from one location to another. Conveyors usually consist of large systems that allow movement of large, heavy, and bulky material. Conveyors provide quick, convenient, and most importantly safe, transportation for a variety of materials. These materials can range in size and weight. Due to extensive size and weight of some materials Conveyors can lower the risk of human injury by avoiding the need for human labor on heavy materials. Conveyors are also easy to install and can greatly increase productivity.
Types of Conveyors
  • Roller Conveyors: Roller Conveyors are best when transporting items that are uneven, or rickety. Roller Conveyors are designed to transport materials that are not flat or perfectly even. When using roller Conveyors the materials must fit within the border of the Conveyor or the item will not transport properly. types of Conveyors
  • Belt Conveyors: Belt Conveyors are best for transporting smaller lighter material. With belt Conveyors it is impossible for the materials to fall through allowing you to transport fine delicate materials.
  • Bucket Conveyors: Bucket Conveyors are common for transporting fine material usually in a vertical line of motion.
  • Vibrating Conveyors: Vibrating Conveyors are usual shaped like a trough to avoid materials falling. Just like the name, the Conveyor vibrates to transport material from one point to another.
  • Chain Conveyors: Chain Conveyors are mainly used for transporting heavier loads. The loads are moved using a motor that provides the force to move the chain thus moving the materials.
  • Screw Conveyors: Screw Conveyors typically have an enclosed fixture with a rotating screw pushing material forward. These Conveyors are usually used to transport liquid and other fine materials.
  • Tow Conveyors: Tow Conveyors are used to pull a series of carts that contain material. There is a track imbedded on the floor that these carts follow.
  • Skatewheel Conveyors: Skate wheel Conveyors work well for flat and even materials. Most commonly these materials are flat sheets of wood, metal, or plastics.
