What is a Welding Machine?
Welding machines are used to weld materials automatically. Welding is the process of joining and sculpting metals, or plastics together using high currents and heat. Welding machines can perform a range of different welds from large area welding to small spot welds.
Types of Welding Machines
- Spot welding machine:
Spot welding machines join separate metal surfaces using heat coming from resistance to the electrical current. Spot welding is common on thinner metals such as sheet metals. - Welding robots: Welding robots commonly perform spot and arc welding in industrial environments. The robots use CNC technology to determine the desired location of the weld.
- Laser welding machine: Laser welding machines use a high powered laser to concentrate heat on desired locations on the material. Laser welding allows welds to be very narrow and precise and deep into the material.
