Wire harness, also known as cable harness or cable assembly, is an assembly of cables or wires wrapped in bundles and used to transmit signals and electrical power. Cables are bound together by straps, ties, conduit, sleeves, wraps or some combination of each.

Wire harness is typically made of flexible plastic, which binds wires and cables together to provide better security as cable is stretched over medium to long distances. Harness can have a fixed diameter, demonstrated by split loom harness, which provides a sturdier construction and can offer additional features like UV protection. Harness can also be expandable, with braided construction that can expand up to a certain diameter as it accommodates more cables or wires. Braided harness features a self-extinguishing material to reduce fire hazard. Another expandable option is spiral wrap harness, which wraps around cable and can accommodate up to a 7 inch bundle.

Harness is supplied on reels and can be hundreds or thousands of feet long.
