While each Whedco controller performs complex operations, our repair process is far from complex.
Next, every attempt is made to save your profiles and parameters. This information is saved on our operating system and is cross-referenced by a unique tracking number assigned to the unit when it was received. This allows easy access in the future - for any reason. This effort is critical to preserve your program during repair and is essential should your unit ever require replacement.
- The controller is completely taken apart and washed down to remove foreign contamination
- After allowing the item to dry thoroughly, Galco troubleshoots the unit to the component level - identifying the cause of the failure. Once identified, the cause of the unit's failure is repaired and/or replaced.
- Questionable, suspect, and 'End of Life' components are replaced to minimize future maintenance requirements.
- PC boards are sprayed with an acrylic conformal coating. This aids in keeping foreign material and contamination from causing potential failures in the future.
Testing Methods
Galco's thorough testing methodology is performed specifically analyzing six (6) key components:
- Complete loop with encoder or resolver feedback
- Communication port or ports
- All profile inputs
- All digital outputs under load and in a system
- Analog output
- All aspects of the controller are tested including:
- Homing
- Overtravel - forward and reverse
- Position
Only after successful testing are your profile's and parameters reloaded into your controller. Galco uses the CATALOG NUMBER, instead of the Part Number to categorize its Sterlco inventory. See example in photo below.
