What is a Turning Center?
A turning center is a type of lathe used commonly to manufacture cylindrical parts. The cutting tool within the machine moved on a linear axis while the material being worked on rotates at high speeds. Turning centers can be used to cut or shave the material to a desired shape or dimension. The turning center uses CNC (computer numerical control) to control the cut or shave on the material.
