A power module is an electrical component that integrates several power semiconductor devices into one package.
Power modules connect multiple discrete devices like MOSFETS, IGBTs, rectifiers, and PWM controllers, among others, to form a specific electrical circuit. The topology of the circuit determines the behavior of the power module in its application.
Because of their low cost compared to wiring each individual component separately, power modules are widely used for power conversion in equipment like drives and various types of power supplies.
