Power & Electrical

Power and electrical components supply, transfer, or regulate power to and between electrical loads. Power equipment includes power supplies, transformers, line reactors, batteries, filters, surge protectors, power factor correction capacitors, and much more.

Power supplies are the primary point of electrical power for machinery and electronic devices. All power supplies have a power input, which receives electrical energy from a power source, and a power output to delivery energy to the load. Power supplies can draw power from several sources, including direct transmission lines, batteries, fuel cells, generators, solar power converters, or even another power supply.

Transformers transfer electrical energy between circuits, and are essential for power transmission and distribution. Transformers are most commonly used to increase or decrease alternating voltages in power applications, typically to decrease high voltages from main power lines to suitable levels needed for factory, commercial or in-home applications.

Additional power equipment includes line reactors, which reduce harmonics; batteries, which store and supply power; line filters, which attenuate interference; power factor correction capacitors, which corrects power loss; and a wide variety of surge protectors, switches, plugs, cables, and more, which transmit power and protect equipment.
